A Bit of an Update, and Some Positive Gains!

When last I posted, my chief concern was the possibility that the local Council on Aging and Disability might be considering removing me from their client list. That could put a big stick in my spokes, so I spent some time on the phone with the supervisor of my case at the Council. I think she’s a decent sort, one who recognizes the inherent flaws in the system and who like many is trying to change things for the better from within.

Apart from the alarm in her voice at finding I’d heard about these ‘budget cuts’ and querying me about my sources…which I respectfully declined to answer; no journalist reveals his/her sources…it was an interesting and somewhat reassuring talk.

My supervisor assured me that while the Council is indeed under all kinds of pressure to cut costs and minimize outlays, a person with as legitimate a need as mine for the services they provide, especially at the minimal level I use, need not worry about being removed. Yes, they’re cutting costs and taking a good hard look at each case to assure that obvious players who are gaming the system and don’t actually need help are removed, there aren’t any plans to remove me.

That’s good news, but it doesn’t change the fact that the vast empire of debt and death (as Chris Duane aptly puts it) is collapsing, the dollar is fast losing its status as the world’s reserve currency, and sooner or later I will be left to fend for myself as it falls apart.

I’m glad the urgency is reduced, but it also doesn’t change the fact that I just won’t be physically able to fend for myself until my liberty of movement’s restored. I try and keep as upbeat as possible, but I confess this confinmement is doing me damage. I am well aware that I have some of the best friends and allies trying to help me get free, but there are times when I have to fight off periods of despair as  my life continues to bleed out, never to be regained. Then, too, there’s the frustration that I’m certain that I can make a difference even in a minor way…once I’m released. The to-do list of things I feel compelled to address, from establishing a dynamic relationship with the local county sheriff’s office, to following up on essays I’ve written, to confronting politicians and functionaries at the state Capitol and nearby counties, grows all the time.

Being human, the bleak reality does at times threaten to overwhelm me, I confess, especially in the quiet watches of the night when I’m alone with my thoughts. These moments pass sooner or later, and I often remind myself that I’m most definitely not alone in this, that hundreds of people of good will have contributed…and more are coming as I can reach them. Patience is something I’m learning more about all the time, and remembering that all the good I’ve seen so far is sure no fluke, especially since my appeal to the public is completely voluntary and no one owes me a thing…yet they choose freely to help. THAT is a big comfort.

Still, I have to remind everyone that the job’s not done yet. But apart from any altruistic impulses I’m giving donors an outlet for, there’s plenty of quid pro quo to help persuade the public to help thanks to the wonderful musical talents who’ve provided their creations to include in the thank-you package for everyone donating $4 or more, and April Reigne is contributing another copy of the Constitutional cases and materials book for the next Grand Prize drawing in a month or thereabouts. Brian Shadis’ superb work in crafting the above banner graphic makes it all more eye catching…thank you, Brian!…so no matter that I may get bummed from time to time, I know in my heart this effort’s going to succeed. Hey, it’s my life here, and as the cliche goes, ‘failure is not an option!’

Wow, I can hardly believe it’s been a month since the Music City Liberty Fest, and I’ve barely written a thing. Apologies to those who’ve been following my exploits…I haven’t been slacking, and I sure don’t have writers’ block. It’s a combination of unusually low energy on my part, an extended pain cycle, and my need to take a deep breath and do some thinking.

Right now I’m doing a writeup and photo gallery of the MCLF, uploading some new YouTube videos and in general gearing up to get behind a new push for public awareness of my situation in hopes of getting the fundraiser really rolling again. I have to admit I’ve been a bit discouraged by the limited progress this last Indiegogo made, but that’s just bumps in the road that I anticipated from the first…I mean, come on, I’m trying to raise a significant chunk of money on a strictly voluntary basis, of course it’s going to take time and it won’t be easy.

So, yeah, I’m still very much here and anxious to get into more regular productive activity. Besides my project, there are a lot of significant developments in our world, and I sure feel the need to be involved with more regular discussions of them. These are seriously nutty times we’re living in and there’s much to talk about. Now is not the time to slow down!

MY Matching Challenge As Inspired by Dr. Thomas E. Woods..and Yes, I’m Serious.

It took about a week for me to write an appropriate thank-you note to Dr. Thomas  E. Woods for his amazing matching challenge he issued on his Facebook page and on his web site’s blog on May 26th. If you missed it, at 10:20am Central Time on that day he challenged his readers to donate $1000 within the hour to Get Glenn Mobile!, and if they would, he’d match it.

Guess what. One of his Facebook readers did donate that thousand bucks not only within the hour but in under 15 minutes from the time the challenge was issued, I might add…and Tom Woods matched it.

Among all of the other donations that have resulted from the awareness-raising efforts of my friends and allies, especially the incomparable Tatiana Moroz, Nick Allison and Adam House of the Combat Veterans for Ron Paul, Jordan Page, and Jason Rink with their endorsement videos they appeared in with Tatiana, as well as others who’ve helped spread the word like Dennis Behreandt of the American Daily Herald and many more, the $2000 from these two gentlemen is the record setting highest.

While trying to find the right words for my note to Dr. Woods, I also found myself wondering just how in the heck could one top that matching offer…incredibly generous as it was, we’re still at about 1/3 of the needed funds to modify my Honda for wheelchair access, and not only is this prolonged confinement doing me real harm, but the clock is ticking if I’m to have even a hope of joining my brothers and friends at the RNC in Tampa in August.

An idea finally percolated through the olive loaf that passes for my brain. I think it’s a pretty good one, too, a challenge of my own that might just result in finishing my goal here in time.

I wrote that thank-you note to Dr. Woods a couple of days ago and included this idea with it. I haven’t heard back from him; either he’s as incredibly busy as usual (likeliest) or he’s burned out from seeing my name (very possible…I hope not but I’ve had to make an awful gadfly of myself to get some public attention for this project) and has me on some perma-ignore list, but I just don’t have the luxury of time at this point.

Here’s my challenge:

If someone with a high enough profile will make a YouTube video or come up with an even better promotion that results in my meeting my goal of $26,000 by the end of this month of June 2012, I will pledge to donate my home, my house here in Nashville, Tennessee after my death in my will to them or the charitable institution of their choice. There’s only one condition, if I should predecease my mom, who’s the executor of my will, she will manage and reside in it until she in turn passes. She’s pushing 75 and not likely to outlive me, unless I’m, say, murdered by goons at the RNC or in Roswell, GA when I go there to follow up on the story of torture and harassment that drove Andrew Wordes to his death...but I won’t leave her unprotected.

I was in such a state I didn’t think of the cost of getting my vehicle to and from Freedom Motors’ facility in Michigan to actually perform the modification, and of course at that time I had no inkling I’d be doing the writing I am. In a pinch I can finance those myself, but perhaps we can forestall this. SO…as a bonus, I’ll throw in my personal possessions, like my firearms, original art work and vintage and reproduction classic tinplate toy collection, stuff I’d planned to will to my few remaining friends, if the amount reaches $30,000 by the end of June 2012. If more than one person launches a publicity drive, incidentally, the winner will be whoever’s responsible for the most total views the blog receives…Wordpress stats will show this and I’ll post a screenshot of them.

It’s a nice house, of brick construction; it along with its detached 2 1/2 car garage are visible in my Krip Kam #2 video, and when I purchased it in 2001 it had just been appraised at approximately $148,000. Doubtless that amount has fallen somewhat since then as a result of the bursting of the housing bubble, but not only did I acquire it for substantially less than that, I’m sure it would still command a respectable price, since it’s in good shape, built on a 1/2 acre corner lot on a hill with (in my opinion) the best view in the neighborhood, and of course has that large and well-constructed garage. Let’s not forget that it’s also disabled-friendly, with the 3 stout ramps that the local Civitan Club built for me several years ago, plus I plan to have the side deck (which was rotten when I got the place, but at the price I paid I didn’t care) ripped out and a switchback wheelchair ramp built so I can get to my basement again.

My mortgage company, Chase, certainly knows it’s a plum given how many times they’ve tried to scam me out of it, including when I tried refinancing it to pay for my vehicle modification months before I began Get Glenn Mobile! out of desperation…but that’s a whole ‘nother story.

Let’s be clear…if my challenge is met, you or your institution of choice are not gonna get the house right away; I plan to live for a goodly number of years yet, and I have no plans to spend that time homeless. Besides, I’ll be paying the mortgage, insurance and taxes on it for several years more until the home loan’s paid off. This is not an offer for impatient people with a high time preference.

I’m completely serious about this. I have no spouse or dependents to leave this house to (and never will, given that MS has made such a train wreck of me, inside and out), nor any close relatives save my mom. When I eventually go, the house will go to someone, and I certainly don’t want the government getting their grubby mitts on it. Heck, if you’re inclined, you could donate the entire amount yourself and think of it as a long term investment; you or a deserving institution will eventually get a good house worth at least a hundred grand or thereabouts for just over $16K now ($21K to get my guns and other goodies), though if you elect to do that, I’d much rather you get the money to Freedom Motors in my name, PayPal would take a pretty big chunk of a fee out of the gross! My requirement doesn’t even include a guarantee of my being able to make the Tampa event, just the deadline of the end of June.

Incidentally, in my letter to Dr. Woods, I said I’d leave the house to the Mises Institute if he met the challenge. That offer still stands, of course, but as I said, I just don’t have the time to wait. Three years’ imprisonment is about all I can take, and I just canNOT face another winter cooped up inside. I’m not self destructive, but like HAL 9000, my mind is going and I can feel it. The signs of damage are subtle but very real, and I don’t want to end up in some creepy fugue state, sleeping most of the time, a useless lump like too many disabled people allow themselves to become .

As always, any questions, comments or constructive criticism are welcome. Other than that…game on!

As the late Maurice Sendak wrote: let the wild rumpus start!

The Allies Continue to Increase in Numbers and Strength!

New Gadsden Flag

I was delighted to see this latest entry on the Combat Veterans for Ron Paul’s web site by my good friend and brother in arms Nick Allison. These folks and their friends have quickly become some of my most stalwart allies, and I couldn’t be happier about that!

In a related note, I had this to say in a response to this wonderful post:

Y’know, I keep meeting people who step up and join in with my growing cadre of allies regularly lately, and most of their connections trace back to my original encounter with CVRP.
Today I quit being a wuss and contacted Kellie Swift-Wikel, the host at Truth Finders Network who conducted such a great interview with Tatiana Moroz the other day. A couple of PMs later and she unexpectedly announced that she was about to fire up a live broadcast, invited me to call in, and I ended up spending a good half hour or so on with her discussing my disability, blog and mobility cause as well as her own amazing story about her young daughter who’s afflicted with several serious maladies, some of which carry invisible symptoms similar to those of MS, yet is still a happy and spiritually sound kid.

She plugged the heck out of my Get Glenn Mobile! project throughout for her listeners and couldn’t have been a more accommodating host. Kellie’s one who really GETS it, and having her join the GGM! corps was mighty gratifying.

The warmth and willingness to help I’m seeing from people isn’t something I expected…but I’m not surprised. THIS is the face of the real America; it’s very much alive and eager to promote freedom in all its forms, just like I knew it was.

Kellie Swift-Wikel is one very smart, VERY gutsy lady. As with you CVRP guys, Tatiana Moroz and so many other good people I’ve encountered since I began this little adventure, I’m delighted and honored to know her.

If folks aren’t yet familiar with this great bunch, do yourselves a favor and check out Truth Finders Network at!

I’ve said it before: this project is obviously going to succeed.  The only question is when. I’m not going into details yet, but I’ve taken a step to accelerate the awareness-raising efforts of the cause in an effort to see its goal reached this very month, which should free me in time to join my friends and newly discovered family in Tampa for the events surrounding the RNC. Let’s hope the plan works.

Today marks the tipping point, I do believe, Tatiana Moroz leads the cavalry coming over the hill!

Yep, I’m pretty sure this project’s crossed that indeterminate event horizon and is beginning a sustained dash to the finish of its goal of restoring my liberty and releasing me from housebound confinement.

I woke this morning to find that my indomitable friend and ally, Tatiana Moroz, had posted even more videos featuring her with high profile people in the liberty community endorsing my cause.

I had a foretaste of good things when she published the video a few days ago with the amazingly talented Jordan Page, and today’s videos complimented that beautifully. The first with liberty activist and documentary producer Jason Rink got my day off with a great upbeat buzz, and when I saw the second, with Tatiana and Dr. Tom Woods adding his endorsement, I was just blown away.

As with Dr. Woods’ blog entry of January 11, I got too experience firsthand the power of all that goodwill and generosity focused on liberating me to recover my life and get out in public to pursue my new avocation as a liberty activist and New Media journalist…only better, since Dr. Woods’ admirers were joined by many new faces familiar with Jordan Page and Jason Rink’s liberty activism. If y’all followed this adventure on Facebook today, you’d have seen that Dr. Woods proposed a challenge for donors, offering to match funds with a donor who contributed $1000 within the hour…and it was answered by a gentleman who stepped up with that donation!

Not only did Tom Woods’ gesture go so far beyond any reasonable idea of aiding this cause as to be out of sight, he added yet another blog entry on his site directing his followers my way. That is the mark of a true gentleman…thank you, Dr. Woods!

I’m pretty frazzled from the exciting events of the day and don’t have an exact figure to update the total with, but by my reckoning we’ve jumped from yesterday’s 19%+ to about 29% or just about $7500…that’s almost one third of the way there!

I’m confident that I’ll be out of this limbo even sooner than expected, and I’m beyond thrilled at today’s huge gain. I’m also truly grateful to Lady Liberty, Tatiana Moroz, for putting all the effort into setting up, producing and publishing these videos, and to Dr. Woods, for coming through again on my behalf. It looks like we’ll be headed down the home stretch soon, and I can’t wait.

I detest saccharine platitudes and hokey, empty cliches, but today I can say with all honesty and sincerity: I am truly blessed to have such wonderful friends and allies. Thank you all.

I Ain’t Got the Words

I had a mighty happy surprise when I checked my inbox this morning…a new endorsement video for Get Glenn Mobile! from both Tatiana Moroz and Jordan Page!

As with Tatiana’s music, at least I was an über fanboi of Jordan’s artistry before he made this video with Lady Liberty on my behalf. I’ll say it again, you owe it to yourself to check them both out, and you can purchase their music at very reasonable prices for your own collection from your favorite sources, or visit their web sites at and respectively. If they’re new to you a visit to their sites is a great starting point to get to know these superb artists!

Thank you, friends. You’re helping this project really get up to speed and I’m grateful for the kindness.

CVRP’s At It Again!

Man alive, I know I won’t be tearing off on trips of several hundred miles regularly once I’m mobile, but here’s another example of wishing especially hard I could make an event when I can’t.

My friends in the Combat Veterans for Ron Paul are gonna be busy this weekend, participating in the Texas for Freedom Rally & Music Festival in Austin this Friday thru Sunday (May 18 – 20).

During all this they’re also planning to march on the Texas State Capitol on Saturday, May 19th. This looks to be a weekend full of good stuff, celebrating liberty with fun and music, including an après-march party locally that promises to be a complete hoot. With a cast of characters like Sheriff Richard Mack, Jack Hunter, Tom Woods, Oath Keepers, Jimmie Vaughn, Jordan Page, Tatiana Moroz, and the other fine folks in the CVRP, this is a terrible tease for me. If you’re in or planning to be in the Austin area this weekend, you owe it to yourself to support liberty while having a great time by joining in. Read up on the details at the official site for the event as well as CVRP’s site!

Guys, you’ve got me mighty envious! Say…we have a State Capitol here in Nashville too, you know.

Just sayin’…

Big Fun Tonight, Join In!

Unless some last minute change precludes it, I’m scheduled to join the fine folks of the Combat Veterans for Ron Paul this evening at 8PM CDT on Adam House’s blogtalkradio program. I’m really looking forward to hanging out with the fellas…and the talented Tatiana Moroz, if memory serves, along with their featured guest Jordan Page, a central figure among the many artists supporting Ron Paul and his message of liberty.

How cool! I was out of the loop for years dealing with survival issues surrounding my MS and disability and missed much of the growing phenomenon of musical artists joining and promoting the liberty movement, but I’m catching up as fast as I can.

It’s an exciting time to be alive, for sure; the new breed of musical artisans is every bit as talented as the folk and rock protest musicians that proved to be such a powerful force during the 1960s, but while their sincerity and commitment matches that of the earlier generation, they strike me as more focused and precise in their methods. With their modern savvy and a clear awareness of the nature and motivations of those opposing them, I believe they’ll be an even greater influence on millions of people for promoting peaceful change in our world than their predecessors were.

Along with the important issues of liberty and recovering our fundamental rights that have been eroded and usurped, I’m also hoping that we can discuss my Get Glenn Mobile! project for restoring my own liberty, time permitting. The fundraising goal to modify my Honda has a ways to go before it’s met, and apart from retrieving my life from limbo, I want to get out in the world to broaden the scope of my journalistic endeavors, in particular to get myself down to Tampa in August to cover the Veterans for Ron Paul March on the RNC in my column for the American Daily Herald.

I hope you’ll join us for tonight’s broadcast of the CVRP program HERE. Remember, even if your schedule won’t let you listen to the live show, each program is archived for listening later at your leisure.

Hope to see you all there!

What A Way to Start the Week!

As regular visitors to this blog may have noticed, I changed its look over the weekend to reflect my promotion of the ‘In It To Win It’ money bomb event for Ron Paul. I hope everyone who’s a Ron Paul supporter took a few minutes to visit the site I’d linked to and left the good doctor a donation!

As an anarcho capitalist at heart, I really don’t have much faith in political action for improving peoples’ lot, but I do admire Dr. Paul’s principled and consistent stance in promoting freedom for everyone, not just whatever group happens to agree with every one of his opinions. As such, I’ll continue to support him as I can, not as the least evil but as a positive agent for change and individual liberty.

This evening I discovered that my friend Nick Allison from the Combat Veterans for Ron Paul had been busy; he was kind enough to make a YouTube endorsement video of his own to help raise awareness of my situation and cause!

I’ll be proud to add it to Tatiana Moroz’ video in the sticky ‘Welcome’ post up at the top of my home page. Thank you, Nick, I’m sure with all of you terrific allies joining to help, my goal will be realized in good time! Nicely done, my man, nicely done. That’s what I’d call a great way to start the week off…and as you know, in a few days we may see another friend add his voice to yours…keep your fingers crossed, and stay tuned!

Tatiana Moroz Steps Up To Get Glenn Mobile!

Okay, I will happily admit that when I made my last post I’d already contacted Tatiana and we’d discussed my request for an endorsement video, but I’ve learned not to make declarative statements until I’m certain that they’re accurate.

I was pleasantly surprised then when I learned last night that she’d taken time from her busy schedule to follow through on making that video. I had a pretty good feeling that she would, but I sure hadn’t expected to see it so quickly…and here it is:

I know for a fact that she was busy because she’d just gotten done appearing on the Angel Clark radio show for an interview as well as being constantly occupied with making her new album she mentions in that interview. The whole show’s good, but if you want to get to Tatiana’s interview, scroll ahead to 67:40 in the player at the bottom of the new tab that will open.

What a marvelous woman.

Thank you, Tatiana, you’ve joined an exclusive group; so far only three people from the liberty community are members, Dr. Tom Woods, Dennis Behreandt, and now you have made the effort to help out with my cause by increasing its visibility! I’m sure there’ll be more as time goes by, but the fact that you folks saw the potential in it before anyone else did marks you as having the superior judgement and discernment (from my perspective) to take that road less traveled. Hey, I’m nobody all that special, but I’m the real deal and this is a worthy cause, so I’d say you three are entitled to feel just a bit smug for being able to spot that.

Am I an enthusiastic fanboi of Ms. Moroz’ surpassing skills as a musician? You bet I am, and was since I first listened to her when Nick Allison of the Combat Veterans for Ron Paul brought her to my attention. Would I still be even if she hadn’t made the video? Absolutely…sure, there are some in the liberty community who’ve offered to help but then flaked, but that doesn’t diminish the fact that they do excellent work to promote freedom…and they don’t owe me a thing.

Happily, Tatiana went above and beyond just doing a good thing, and for my part, I hope the karma gods or the spirit of Austrian economics or whatever motivation floats peoples’ boats ensures she goes on the be the mega-famous celebrity that she deserves to be and makes a kazillion bucks in the process. Me, I’ll be happy to get mobile again, get back to enjoying life and promoting liberty, sound economics, and the Ron Paul R[̲̅ə̲̅٨̲̅٥̲̅٦̲̅]ution…especially the Veterans for Ron Paul March on the RNC in Tampa in August.

Speaking of which, some business: I know the economy sucks. I know money’s tight. But here’s the thing, not to put too fine a point on it, this fundraising blog’s been getting a lot more views over the last couple of months…I watch the stats…yet aside from two donations from generous readers, nobody’s actually raising the funds. I’m not gonna get out of here in time to promote the Ron Paul R[̲̅ə̲̅٨̲̅٥̲̅٦̲̅]ution, cover that epic veterans’ march in Tampa, and bunches of other things like confronting the finks in Roswell who drove Andrew Wordes to ruination and suicide unless some of you hit that PayPal ‘Donate’ button.

The whole point of this venture is not to ask that the bunches of dough I need to modify my Honda come from a small number of large donations, but to spread that job out to lots of people making many small donations. I hate to be a pest in the first place, so I hope to keep the impact on any individual person as low as possible.

Also, you anarchocapitalists, libertarians and Objectivists sick of being called cruel, heartless and other nasty names by all of the statists around you because you know that the government’s stealing money from people to do ‘good’ is immoral and wrong for a lot of reasons?

Well, THIS is exactly the sort of voluntaryist project that makes reality out of all the talk that’s just lip service until some action is taken, and when its mission succeeds will be a perfect example to point those people at that proves how right you’ve been all along! And when they try making snarky little comments trying to discredit that success or that it wasn’t the voluntarist effort it was intended to be, I’ll be right here to set those snide little Orcs straight.

It’s been proven beyond doubt that Get Glenn Mobile! will succeed, but the clock is running if the things I want to do to support Dr. Paul before the Veterans March on the RNC, before the election (and before my brain melts from three years’ confinement), are going to happen.

So please do take a moment to drop a buck, a fiver, a ten spot, or whatever you can donate that won’t put a hurt on your finances. I want to get to work for you, me, and your families to show up the creeps who’ve been destroying America, and restore so much of my life that the rotten MonSter of multiple sclerosis thought it had got away with stealing from me.

Thanks, and while you’re doing that, have a listen to some more of Tatiana Moroz’ superb work!
