Welcome…Big Changes Coming, Folks!

remodeling

I am such a slacker. I have to apologize for my lack of recent updates, but I’ve been trying to lay back and wrap my mind around the reality that we’ve finally succeeded.

There were, I confess, some days when I despaired of ever writing this. Get Glenn Mobile! came into existence just about two and a half years ago, and I knew from the start that it was likely to take some time to accomplish its goal of restoring my mobility. There are plenty of good causes in the world, mine was only one of many of them, economic times are hard and of course the State is doing its best to make them even harder. So, yeah, there were times, especially bleak, grey, cold winter days and nights like we’ve had lately when all I could see was that road stretching off and out of sight with no perceptible end.

Despite all of these obstacles, there’s one gorgeous X-WAV Honda Element sitting in my garage, only awaiting warmer weather to get me back to the world of the living…and so many things I’ve missed for years.

Wow.

What now? Well, I’ve talked about it before: this blog has fulfilled its purpose and it’s done. I don’t plan to make another post here because of that, and you’ll notice that for now at least there aren’t any of the ubiquitous ‘donate’ buttons.

But am I done with writing and blogging? Oh HELL NO!

From here, like the phoenix, a new blog will be arising. The name will change, the look will change, and so will even the domain name. Yeah, there’ll be ‘donate’ buttons, but they’ll be just like any other site’s that are happy to accept help to offset operating costs; the emergency is OVER.

I’ll keep everyone apprised as I progress, and for now, please accept my genuine thanks for all of your help, support and contributions…this is your day too, since this would simply not have been possible without you.

I’m pretty excited to be gearing up for the next phase!

About Glenn Horowitz

I'm a 20 year civil courier pilot, retired by multiple sclerosis. From summer of 2011 until December 2013 my efforts went mostly to my first blog, Get Glenn Mobile, to raise the funds needed to convert my Honda Element for wheelchair access and end my virtual housebound confinement. This was realized just after Christmas 2013 when I was able to acquire a superb X-WAV Element, already modified for my use. Though the original goal wasn't met, what was raised, plus my Honda, plus the proceeds of the sale from my mother's car were enough to make it happen. It's an amazing story in itself! Now, after my release from homebound prison, I can augment the journalistic work I'm doing for the American Daily Herald by getting out in public, talking with people, perhaps even getting some media attention to explain why someone as disabled as I am knows these unfunded entitlement programs like Social Security and its 'disability insurance' are bogus and do more harm than good, and in fact why the whole welfare/warfare state is contrived to keep the gravy train rolling for those who benefit while they drain our resources and eat out our substance. Why 'public education' is really public INDOCTRINATION that's become a meat grinder destroying our youth and our future. Why the fiat currency foisted on us by the Federal Reserve for a hundred years has destroyed the dollar and will without doubt cause its collapse. On and on the list goes, and I want to talk with the world about these vital matters. Please visit my new blog, 'Liberty On Wheels' at http://libertyonwheels.com/ if you're interested in learning more!

  1. Glenn,
My wife and I live in Nashville and I would like to get in contact with you. Is there an email address I could reach you at? Mine is calebplain at gmail dot com.

  2. I’ve got to wait 3-5 business days to fund my Paypal account, but you have a meager friendship donation on it’s way. Keep fighting brother.

hello Glenn, I found out about you from Tom Woods facebook page, just wanted to share some information you may find interesting, if you’ve never heard about or tried craniosacral therapy. It focuses on the central nervous system and sometimes has done amazing, even radical results. I also recommend reading Dr. John Upledger, sort of the “founder” of the therapy, where he often shares some of the healing stories. Books from him I’d recommend include: The Inner Physician and You, Craniosacral, a Touchstone for Natural Healing, and Cell Talk. Although he trains many therapists and has an entire institute, he himself still practices somewhere in Florida. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTHys45Kj7E finally, a testimonial. I wish you the best, thanks for reading.

  4. I took these tablets about a couple of years
ago and I lost 30lbs in 10 weeks and I loves it.I just started
taking them again and hopefully I loose more this time aroundI took the thin capsule
for a few months I lost 100 pound and strategy to begin again to loose yet another 100 pounds oh yea and I dint
gain the wieght straight back iam verry happy with this product in-fact
several members of the family stated to go on it too.I’m worried now though I might be doing damage to my body but don’t want
to stop and put all that weight back on?

  5. Likely the happiest “goodbye” to a blog that I have ever felt. So proud and amazed at your determination to get your life back and your mental resilience during the process. Can’t wait to see the new blog and all the opportunities to continue to learn from you with your new freedom!

    • Thank you, Karen!

Very kind words, though the jury’s still out on mental resiliance, the same factors are still working to drive me bonkers, but just knowing there’s an escape route at hand takes much of their power away.

I’m just delighted by the entire scenario, as I’ve mentioned there was at the very least some major karma at work. Thinking about it makes me wonder if this wasn’t a real epiphany that will bring out my spirituality a lot more.

The story is a mini-epic, and doesn’t really have an end. Jill (the lady who brought the vehicle into my life) and her husband are very like newly discovered relatives and I like the idea of the ongoing friendship. She called me up a couple of days ago to see how I was and catch up, even strongly suggesting I induce my mom to get on Facebook where she’d enjoy talking with her when I explained a bit about her situation. Now the fun will be getting my mom to actually do it!

  6. Glen, Did you work for Congressional Air while in Gaithersburg? Or was it scaro-fright? Ron W.

    • Hi, Ron-

Yep, that’s me, I worked for both. Just glad I was able to get a bunch of hours in the air before this stupid disability got me. I recognize your name, but the details are fuzzy, maybe you could elaborate a bit. Also, what brought you to my blog, if I may ask? I’ve closed it since the mobility goal was achieved, but as I promised, I’ve begun a new (and NON-fundraiser) blog at http://libertyonwheels.com/ and hope you’ll have a look at it! Thanks for checking in!

  7. At this time it looks like WordPress is the top blogging platform out there right
now. (from what I’ve read) Is that what you’re using on your blog?

    • It is as far as I know, yes. I’m curious why I’m getting so many comments at this late date though, it’s officially closed. To mark the turning of this significant chapter of my life, my new blog, Liberty On Wheels is now current…hope you’ll enjoy it if you’re inclined to look!

  8. I love it whenever people come together and share views.
    Great website, keep it up!

  9. Thank you a bunch for sharing this with all of us
you really understand what you are talking approximately!

Bookmarked. Kindly additionally consult with my web site =).
We will have a hyperlink change arrangement among us

  10. Obviously having a child and the benefits they bring are priceless
but it can be financially very stressful for parents who are already adapting
to a life changing event, not to mention the sleep deprivation. Fold up the bottom
lip and glue where it says “glue here” on the back. Stores Nearby
    - Are you around any stores like Target, Wal-mart, K-mart, Michaels, Babies R’
Us, or whatever other store sell wrapping paper for baby showers.

  11. Howdy just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know a few of the images aren’t loading properly.
I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two
different browsers and both show the same outcome.

  12. Hey would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using?
I’m looking to start my own blog in the near future but I’m
having a difficult time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your layout seems
different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique.

P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!

  13. Hello! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could locate a captcha plugin for my
comment form? I’m using the same blog platform as yours
and I’m having difficulty finding one? Thanks a lot!

    • Good question, I should look into it. I’d use it if I could; this blog’s been closed for months (though I keep it going for the record), and it seems like spammers are congregating here like flies!

  14. Wonderful blog! I found it while searching on Yahoo News.
Do you have any tips on how to get listed in Yahoo
News? I’ve been trying for a while but I never seem to get there!
    Cheers
